About

me on cameraHi. I’m Hannah Jackson, a final year Multimedia Journalism student studying at Bournemouth University.

A digital savvy journalist, over the past three years I have enjoyed expanding my skills in written and visual communication. I have produced forward-thinking immersive documentaries, worked 12 hours around the clock as a producer for our universities coverage of the 2015 general election (of which we won an award) conducted interviews with music stars and filmed on air “big boards”.

From studying at Bournemouth University on their BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism course, I have widened my ability in areas including radio, TV, news and features journalism as well as gaining core theoretical knowledge in media law, global current affairs, journalism ethics, and shorthand. The course is also NCTJ accredited of which I am working towards the organisation’s gold standard diploma.

In other ounces of my free time I can be found attending gigs/festivals, writing music reviews for my website (www.thatonesound.com) or the Daily Echo’s Student Eye segment and playing the drums and guitar where possible (there is sufficient evidence to label me somewhat of a “music nut”)

I am an enthusiastic and versatile individual having thrown myself into small and large scale projects as well as professional placements. From magazine opportunities at Kerrang! to reading the hourly news for Hope FM and joining the team at Sky Sports to help produce their Saturday Morning show, these experiences have shaped me as a journalist and helped my confidence soar.
